Sparkly day
Sparkly not because it was warm or sunny; it was the complete opposite of that; super dark, gloomy and spitting rain. One wouldn't think that a birthday party could be any fun on a day like that but it was.
Sparkly because it had all the elements of joy that the weather couldn't provide; favorite people, entertaining kids, a six year old who couldn't take her eyes off the wrapped presents, a new tiny baby that is gorgeous beyond belief, delicious food. Add to that the most fabulous woodland setting, carefully groomed to incorporate a veg garden and pond but also left undisturbed enough to be considerate of the wildlife.
I spent the morning wrapping a few little things for the birthday girl and snapped this because I just knew; I suck at taking pictures at events. I get busy having fun and completely space out.
Fine wedding photographer I would make, eh? "Oh I'm so sorry, I completely missed the cake cutting, I was dancing the Macarena with your crazy cousin."
