Family+ watching lol cats. Busy day today and nearly missed chance for blip. #3 brought ipad up and the boys made some film trailer on it. Quite impressive and I was trying to think how I'd do something like that. I'd probably do it by hand and from first principle. I need to ask them how it works. If I got it right it's basically templates which you modify and fill out with some of your own content. So again software replaces skill but steers you in a particular direction. The question is do you loose creativity and end up with bland uniformity? I noticed that I am getting slightly fed up with heavy snapseed processing. I still use it but prefer the more subtle effects. I guess I am happy not to have to faff around in the dark room where actual skill was required.
