I'm not a pheasant plucker ..
I was surprised to see this pheasant hunkering down - they usually run hysterically in front of my van when I approach!
A birder I was discussing the suicidal tendencies of pheasants with recently, told me that when he went to China (where pheasants came from originally), he could hear pheasants all the time, but never once saw them, yet in this country they stand in the road and seem to wait to be run over.
The result of years of inbreeding, no doubt - poor little buggers :(
I'm reading rumours of the demise of blip - odd, so soon after Polaroid got involved - what's anyone else heard?
