#kiltwalkforever
It's been a great day so far and it's only 12:30. I had the privilege of welcoming our awesome Kilties to their training day at Hampden Park at 09:00 this morning and what a great sight to see. They came in all shapes, sizes and ages. We also had several well behaved dogs, including a guide dog, so we officially have our first Kiltie Dog.
I also exclusively revealed and modelled the Kilties outfit which is a very fetching rain jacket and polo shirt. Sadly, I had to tell our 200 kilties they won't all look as good as me in it :-)
I explained our history, our values, mission and goal of becoming a sustainable Scottish Children’s charity and how our funding model works and they "got it".
I'm now up at Tesco in cumbernauld handing out 1,000 leaflets and 800 leaflets in, its time for macaroni and chips. Well we deserve it, cause it's Baltic.
I have to say that it's been too long since the last Kiltwalk and too long since we've got our kilts on and hit the streets and out of 800 leaflets handed out so far, we've had nothing but positive comments. There was one gentleman who quizzed me about recent media reports and left happy once we'd finished talking.
Finally, the Team Aine moment. So as you can see from today's picture, I arrived at Tesco to find this Motley Crew on the notice board. Ten minutes later, while handing out leaflets a bloke came up to me and asked "is that the Kiltwalk mate" and after I confirmed, he pointed at The Pink Princess and said "I work with her man, so me and two mates are signing up". I have to assume, they're fully briefed on how to register for Team Aine?
After the last week or so, today has great and had reminded me why I do what I do.
Right, 200 leaflets to go so time to brave the cold once more.
