Bones Show Through

The day reveals scattered relics.
Ancient fishermen of the past,
have left wrecked wooden boats
by threadbare sheds and torn
scattered nets, as if their souls
might rise up at the day's end
to run their broken hulls out
and haul fish from a ghostly sea.
But these shreds of time gone
are now stranded far inland
as the gravel plain moves on.
