Devil's Punchbowl

On a trip to the "North Island' en route to London I called in for a brief visit to Hindhead and the Devil's Punchbowl.

 Since the A3 road which used to pass through the area has been diverted underground via the Hindhead tunnel the National Trust are hard at work creating footpaths and new planting. Free from traffic noise it is now a haven for walkers and countryside lovers with miles of footpaths and broad vistas to explore.
Unfortunately it was rather dull with a biting wind at the edge of the bowl so just stayed long enough for a quick pano. picture.
