Giant down.

This huge, beautiful beech must have disintegrated and come down in the last gales we had. For all the debris within the frame, there's another frame's worth to the left, lots of it piled way higher than my head. A previously dark corner of Stanmer woods is now flooded with spring sunshine.  This is the chance those forest floor pioneer species have been waiting for!
