Milburn Church Poultry Show

A very serious event. The Village Hall has chicken coops double-deckered on tables at one end, tea, coffee and locally baked refreshments at the hatch and the auction produce at the other end. The best Poultry Judges are there lifting, weighing and inspecting chickens of all hue, feather decor and breast width.
Double-entrendres abound.
This chap won a prize, but only second, his relative two cages down had a better shape apparently.
We kept our hands and arms still during the auction so as not to come away with two Calling Ducks, nor Buff Orpingtons.
Did you know that a duck's beak shouldn't be too long, or that a good egg needs to show both whites?
There is also a move to prevent the procedure that stops your ducks from flying away? If the judge finds your duck has had his or her wing joints tampered with, it will go back in its cage and no further judging will take place.
