Isbert's Folly

Today's U3A Walk was in impressive scenery, in the Vall de Lequart, Alicante Province.
We set off from the village of Tormos and walked along some rough paths and cart tracks towards Isbert's Dam.

The Dam was built at the beginning of the century at the narrowest point of the ravine. But, because of the porous nature of the surrounding rock, the dam was never able to hold back any water!

The failed dam became known locally as Isbert's Folly.
