Hastings Jack in the Green

If you've ever seen the film 'Wicker Man', you'll have some idea of what the Jack in the Green festival is like. Every May day bank holiday, the residents of this sunny seaside town in South East England dress up like green sprites and dance, parade about, drink and are generally merry. It's all good fun. I go back every year for it. This charming chap let me take his picture - I was in awe of his beard!
