Crown Plates

After an awful lot of welding, the eight legged jacket is fixed to the seafloor with not only 8 piles welded to the jacket on top, but also with 4 subsea grouted piles at seafloor level. A sharp eye can see why the securing plates welded on the jacket as well as the pile are called crown-plates. The white paint on them is for MPI purposes, a way to find cracks in the welds.
