nonsenses & truths

Short Lane

Up at the crack of dawn for the delivery of fridge and washing machine - obviously they didn't arrive for another 4 hours but at least I was productive in the meantime; more unpacking, then bleeding radiators (the last tenants must have been cold upstairs) and the subsequent re-pressurising of the central heating system.  I had to resort to reading the instructions for that bit, but don't tell anyone.

Then I swapped the side of the hinge on the fridge door, having been too tight to give John Lewis £30 for doing it.  I thought, as I was lying on the kitchen floor, that perhaps it would have been worth it.  Installing the washing machine was a little more straightforward.

In the evening I had a walk, partly finding useful cycle routes and also finding useful pubs.  I really like exploring a new place, all these small journeys are part of the process of making my own personal map, not the kind that could be put down on paper; an inconstant scale and an intangible key, but the best sort, in my head.
