Up For Grabs, Soho, London
This shot is of where the famous art suppliers Cowling & Wilcox used to be situated in Soho. It was an institution and had been on this site in Soho since 1961. Unfortunately, the landlords of this block decide to demolish most of it and the shop is no more. I can understand how some people see that Soho is slowly losing its character and there does seem to be a lot of buildings being demolished in this part of London - often replaced with something either worse or out of scale, boring or sometimes all three!
A different case in point is the new massive retail and business complex being built in Victoria - it's ugly, out of scale and rather depressing to look at and is much worse than a lot of the buildings it replaced.
