In the Gloaming

Gloaming - evening twilight - the period between sunset and darkness.
Just after six we drove over the bridge to the island and parked by the hotel, where we were going to eat.
There was this beautiful but fading light and the sea was almost completely still. The temperature hovered around 0° and the water was completely free of ice. (As we drove home three hours later a skim of ice had reformed as the temperature fell.)
