Yellow Bird
I played a game with the finches in my yard today and it ticked me off. It was: Laurie has to get out of the way inside because her cleaning lady was there. As a result, she was having a hard time taking pictures through the window. When she was inside, the finches were at the yellow dish, drinking and frolicking away. Even this elusive male Lesser Goldfinch was there a few times.
But when she went outside and sat in a chair waiting to photograph them, not a single bird appeared. Not at the dish, not in the ocotillo, not even on a rooftop! There wasn't even a peep to be heard.
So Laurie went back into the house. The moment she did, the birds returned to the yellow dish. Fed up with this game, she whipped around and snapped off two shots. Then she put her camera down and walked away in disgust. No more shooting birds on this cloudy, miserable day.
There was some good news. I was excused from serving on Federal District Court jury duty. It sometimes is a good thing to have bipolar disorder. Those with mental illnesses don't often get selected to serve on juries.
