Fly through the sky!

We're here in Australia. It's beautiful.

The trip here was not so beautiful though.

When we got to chch airport it was crazy busy. They have all these automated check in things and one tiny desk with 2 ladies for the special check in.

It took about 20 minutes to sort us out. Andre took our suitcases to the bag drop while I transferred Kanye to an air bz one and folded his up.

We then went through the xray people who seemed to feel the need to wave their scanner wand thing over Kanye. We continued on to the customs people. When you have 5 traveling these parts take a lot longer.

We waited for about 20 minutes then they boarded us early. Kanye sat next to window then Andre then mar and me on other side of aisle.

Harper had had enough of it all by the time we started to taxi. He screamed the plane down- I then sort of started to panic. I became very aware of being in a small space with one very upset baby. My heart raced and I felt nauseous. I actually wanted to get off the plane but I knew I couldn't so I breathed through it.

Once we were in the air i felt fine. Harper was fine for the first hour. He played on ipad, had some food and drink while I filled out form after form The next 2 hours were the longest in my life.

The boys were so well behaved on the plane, ate their meals ( which I'll add were pretty nice for plane food! ) and did everything we asked.

Harper fed, he grizzled, he slept off and on. He developed a fever and trying to keep him somewhat happy was exhausting.

The plane was really hot. Seriously hot. There was a rugby team on board and I think they pushed the temp up. At one point Andre and I were pretty worried about Harper. He was so hot we thought he'd have a febrile convulsion. We asked the flight attendants for help. They brought us wet cloths, ice packs and turned the air conditioning down.

Never have I been so happy to see arrival time 2 minutes!

As we landed he fed, still very hot. I stood up and put him on my back to get off asap. He then vomited down my back and cried. Every one looked at me but were empathetic. They all moved aside to let me off.

We got through customs quickly and put Harper in his pram. We waited maybe 20 minutes and a shuttle driver arrived. Apparently we were booked for 6pm pick up but the plane landed early so he was luckily able to take us. We wanted to just go.

We sat at the back of the shuttle and opened the windows. There were a lot on board so it took 2 hours to get to our accommodation but Harper slept on me the whole way as we tiki toured through the gold coast.

Oh to see a city! A real towering city. All the way along the beach, people exercise and it's so lively at night!

The guy in front of us in the shuttle was from nz so we talked a lot and he told us some info. Almost like our own tour guide!

We arrived at our accommodation and were greeted by the night manager. So incredibly friendly!

Where we are staying is beautiful. So much so I could live here.

We showered us all and put the boys to bed at nz time 1230am, aus time 930pm.

Harper slept well, there's air conditioning above our bed so I think that helped him sleep.

Andre and I were pretty exhausted, the stress of Harper made it worse for us but he did really well for his first flight of 3 hours 40.
