A path to the unknown

Sometimes I feel that when one goes from this world is like when you take a walk without knowing where you'll be going. But not really, if you were brought up with some religious beliefs, then you hope to go to heaven. But really, what is heaven? Is there such a place? Or, do we reincarnate? Is it all myth or a reality? Anyway, my brother in-law just passed away and I feel sad, but not too sad because I know he is in a better place wherever this place is. It must be very peaceful.
