Mike

Last year I had a good conversation with Mike and I saw him again this morning.  He told me his health is getting worse and he'll be having surgery soon to remove several tumors, including the one on his cheek.  "I'm just not feeling good at all," he told me. "I'm a little nervous about the surgery. Who knows what they'll find when they open me up," he said.  

In the short time since we last spoke, Mike has started using a 4 wheel walker to get around.  He's still living in the shelter and hasn't found a way to scrape together enough money for an apartment.

Mike was both surprised and pleased that I remembered his name and a little bit about his situation.  I told him I'd be back for a "post-op" photo and he was genuinely pleased with the notion.  See you in a few weeks, Mike!
