It's All Relative
As the time for me to leave the BBC draws near, I've been experiencing a whole range of feelings about it. It's all I've ever known since I left school and it's as familiar as home - I fear I shall miss it terribly and yet I've been chafing to wriggle out of the straitjacket it has become in terms of having any quality time away from it. I've been worried about having somewhat less than half the income I'm accustomed to. I've been concerned that without the daily social network and contact with my workmates I'll feel isolated.
And then this evening I caught sight of this chap amid the brash consumerism, crowds of late-night shoppers and bright lights of Oxford Street.
