Fingers on the buttons
Busy day, starting with some unnecessary self-inflicted stress, that was nicely blown away by this guy and his button-box (melodion) on Middle Meadow Walk.
I confess to having mixed views on accordion music* - but in general for me the smaller the box the better to listen to. Confirmation bias maybe; but I liked this guy's playing and had a quick chat about what people might like to hear in the mornings. Quick or slow was the question. My suggestion was to play what he felt most like playing and to play with feeling, because I think (though I may be wrong) that the feelings communicate to people through the music - and then they're more likely to stop and ostensibly and maybe pay.
I hope I'm right.
* Q: What's the difference between an onion and an accordion?
