Sowing Annuals

It was rainy and dull for most of the day here so no gardening. I joined a sowing annuals workshop this morning held at our local Avant garden centre and run by Sue Jeffries. Sue is an old friend who teaches horticulture and has a garden advice website. She is also a garden designer. Sue explained the different types and uses of annuals and answered all our questions. I learned such a lot even though I've done a fair bit of growing from seed. Sue demonstrated how to sow. It was interesting how she packed the compost lightly into a pot and just pressed down the top bit, rather than tightly packing in as you go like making mud pies. Great session and I'm dying to start the process. Think I will need another greenhouse.
