Safer motherhood & child survival #Zanzibar

A key IMPACT priority is promoting safer motherhood and child survival.

In Zanzibar, our early childhood health monitoring project includes running focus discussion groups for parents on health matters. Our local colleagues describes; 'Even male members of the family have been participating in the focal group discussion. Usually, pregnancy and maternal issues are considered as female issue in our society, hence male counterparts are considered as minority! Through our focal group discussion we will gradually change the perception of maternal health.  Reproductive and child health issues are discussed and parents much appreciate the knowledge they have received.'
