Season has opened

Superb flying weather at last. Still quite a bit of snow around but ait temperature, in the sunshine, getting to 10°C for a few hours.

Unpacked the winter bedding.

One day I will explain the various coloured boxes. Here one can see one box is very grey and has rips in the wood. Like the two to it's left, it is of the original 2013 boxes but the only one not treated with linseed oil.
The box to the right is a cheaper box built 2014 but also treated with oil. I have a third type of box also from 2014 but not used and these were pretreated by the manufacturer.

I like the colour of the grey but not the ripping. The linseed oil colour also looks good but does have the disadvantage that it always seems to be a bit "sticky" and hold dust & dirt.
