Repairing the railing

Went to visit some friends today and spotted these two repairing a railing along a boardwalk.   Just after I took this, the guy on the bottom stepped onto the next rock and it wobbled.
"That's pretty dangerous work!"  I said.
Flashing a big smile, he replied, "We like living on the edge." 
Apparently teenagers ride their bikes along the railing in the summer, so the new railing will be angled to make that difficult.  I was picturing a teenager flying off the railing onto the rocks or into the water below.  Here's a slightly different angle on the guy on the boardwalk.
