Cowpers Cross
Cowpers Cross stands just adjacent to the old roman road that links that crossed the moor and sits near its summit.
Likely a Christianised monolith dating back many centuries at a place thought to be the site of the markets that were likely held above the nearby valleys in times of plenty and times of scarcity (the equinoxes).
It serves as a landmark for me on my moor runs, today was so blue and mild and calm that DM and I just ran on past it before looping back.
