Lighthouse

A day in Busselton (Australia). We visited the 500,000 year old Ngilgi Cave and wondered around the various caverns in the cave for an hour. We then visited the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse which marks the northern tip of Leeulwin Naturaliste National Park. The lighthouse was built in 1903 and was managed by three keepers and their families. The lighthouse was the last manned lighthouse in Western Australia which was converted to automatic in 1978. Before the lighthouse was built most mariners depended on “The Tub” as a landmark. This was a barrel on top of a 30 foot pole erected in Busselton to mark the best landing place for passengers and stores
