Brass monkey

All day without a photo.

Back to the hotel late and then went out to attempt a starscape.

I'll get it right one day.

The brass monkey was apparently a rack for cannon balls.  Due to differences in the coefficient thermal expansion of brass and iron the brass monkey's balls would quite literally fall off when temperatures dropped low enough.  The same effect can be observed for idiots who leave their perfectly warm hotel rooms in search of a photograph.
