First day

On the North Island.

We were looking for a beach mentioned in lonely planet with black sand and lots of driftwood. Seemed to take longer than we thought and the journey consisted of unmade gravel road then climbing down a steep bank and across a rickety bridge but it was worth it. Not sure if whole trees count as driftwood.

On our way back we saw the sign for the beach we were meant to go to which was easy to reach With no climbing but was far less impressive

It was worth getting lost!
