Clandon Park Gates
A rather gloomy day which hasn't shown the gates off in their true splendour. On a sunny day the gold sparkles, not today! These rather spectacular gates are no longer used, hence trees have grown over the drive. At one time they were used as the private entrance and exit for the Earl of Onslow. He bequeathed Clandon Park House and Grounds to the National Trust in 1956. The public now enter and leave by the side entrance through some rather dull gates.
