Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon
Another day, another sunrise. The clouds over the ice beach were rather thick so we opted for the clearer skies over the lagoon and were rewarded with a little colour. The tide was quite strong though and the ice was moving around quite a bit which made focussing a third of the way up the frame somewhat awkward.
The weather on the whole was not kind though and we travelled back towards Vik in almost white out conditions at times and with ice over the road. Thankfully Bjorn our driver was excellent and slowed down and took great care.
Our afternoon was supposed to be spent photographing Vik church and then sunset along the beach however more hail storms put paid to that idea. I think today marked my third or fourth face full of wind blown hail this week, it's one part of Iceland I won't miss.
Cloudy skies tonight interspersed with either snow or hail so it looks like the Northern Lights remain out of my grasp a little longer.
