Boys and kites
Following an excellent flight back to UK I enjoyed a fabulous welcome from my daughter and family - three enormous bear hugs from the boys and ecstatic licks and cuddles from Cara who was looking really well and happy. Jet lag slowed me down a bit and I slept later than usual explaining to the boys that "my body was playing catch up", which they thought was hilarious! We all enjoyed a long walk this afternoon to an area the family had discovered recently, encouraged by the need to give Cara good exercise. Red kites have become more numerous in this area and were soaring above us, occasionally diving towards the ground and we discovered that a couple were feeding them with raw chicken ( past its sell by date). We joined in watching the amazing aerobatic display by these beautiful birds as they swooped in to feed and felt really privileged. The boys were enthralled and then enjoyed the rest of the walk doing what young boys love best - exploring woodland, finding treasures and climbing trees. Cara was with them every step of the way and is only tethered here to keep her from eating any scraps of leftover raw chicken while the boys climbed. An early night is called for again, to continue the catching up, as Vegas time is 8 hours behind the UK.
