Ferry Across the Teign
Up early (very early, before 6) to be ready for a seven o'clock start to Shaldon. Probably just as well as traffic did start building up towards the end of the journey. Coffee stop at Sedgemoor Services then onto the chalet.
Parked at The Ness and had a wander around Shaldon before driving up to the site. The sea was quite rough considering the weather was good, though quite breezy.
Lunch on the balcony after unpacking. Time to admire the view and soak up some sun.
The photo is taken on Shaldon beach of people waiting for the ferry. There has been a ferry carrying people from Shaldon to Teignmouth (and back) across the estuary since the tenth century. There is a road bridge, but that's a bit of a trek and the ferry is more fun :-)
