Portrait Salon
Portrait Salon Photographic Exhibition is in Edinburgh just now. It's not been so well publicised but it is worth a look if you are in the area. I have had it in my sights for quite some time as I just missed the preview showing in London during my last visit by a day. I was gutted.
Today I spent a bit of time planning and preparing soil. I felt a bit like a car indicator, I was out the shed, I was in the shed, I was out the shed.......... No Mr Grey comes anywhere near my shed, thank goodness! I could feel the promise as the soil ran through my fingers. I could smell success and taste the results as the rain pelted down. I think that if you are tackling back breaking digging you need to have some sense of being on a promise?
I am aware that my images this weekend are of other people's work, and not particularly challenging, although the light yesterday could have been difficult had I not struck gold first time. Sometimes that's all you need to do, is to feel the camera in your hand, and get used to it again. I have a sense that my photographic skills are receding, perhaps that's to do with my age too, who knows?
