vindictive or just plain stupid?

The Denon speakers I had on ebay a fortnight ago sold and I packed them up and despatched them surrounded by bubble wrap in a stout box clearly labelled fragile and "do not drop".
This is how they arrived.
The box has a huge compression crease in one end where it was dropped or smashed into the wall of the van under braking.
Hermes now coming the raw prawn about "wanting evidence of damage in transit" .
