Sir Nigel Gresley

The North York Moors Steam Railway is this weekend celebrating/marking the 50th Anniversary of the closure of the railway line from Whitby through to Malton. This was as a result of the Beeching Act.

The majority of the line re-opened not long after as a result of efforts by steam enthusiasts.

Lots of different trains running this weekend. When we popped to the station, Sir Nigel Gresley had just arrived. He is the train not the driver.
