bucks life

Ladybird, ladybird

After a good sleep I lazed abed reading, listening to the radio and watching telly this morning.

The weather has been stunning today. Blue skies and 15C all day and balmy as anything. Not warm, not cold just perfectly balanced in between. A beautiful early Spring Day. Wonderful.

On the way to C's I wound the windows down and took a super windy scenic route via Thornton, Foscote and Dadford among the new lambs and enjoyed the countryside. I popped into Boycott Farm to pick up some pork for the freezer. There are no piglings in the barn just yet though. I checked.

I had a quick whiz round the Brackley Antique Cellar and checked out the old bookcases, again without making a purchase and picked up an iced coffee.

When I got to theirs they'd just got back from a walk at Stowe, having abandoned their intent to wean Tilly off breast onto breast and bottle today as she was not playing ball. I'm not surprised they needed to get out. They'll try again over the next few days and weeks.

Teddy is now fine at toddling ten or so steps if he does it on his own without thinking and without encouragement. When he did walk he held his hands out in front of him and kind of looked at them quizzically as if not sure what to do with them and surprised he didn't need them to move forward any more! As soon as he starts thinking about it though, he loses confidence. We had a lovely hour or so playing and then Tilly nodded off on my lap too, which I was not expecting.

After a lovely dinner, we played a couple of rounds of scrabble, a game I haven't played for donkey's years. I didn't win! I'm staying over again and will spend tomorrow with them too.
