Wet, wet..

..wet.

The drains are all flowing.. And some.. This collage of shots taken as we went down the croft.
1. The junction between the lean to gutter (black, left), and the drain that comes from behind the ruin underneath the chicken shed (brown, top), and then flows out (under my wellie) to..
2. ..the ditch running through A's croft and under his track.
3. The drain running down the side of the chicken run..
4. ..past these rocks (note the mole run hole gushing water just to the left)..
5. ..and on down the side of the track..
6. .and flowing down through the top veg patch..
7. ..and out over the currant bushes (need to put in a pipe going to the right side of the croft, and then dig a ditch).
8. The water just appears anywhere down the croft, some patches are just so soggy, you sink in. It feels like there could be a mud-slide, and all the soil end up at the bottom!
9. This drain should collect all the water as it comes off the slope, and direct it through A's croft.. It's doing a good job., although some is still getting past to the lower veg patch.

Just looked back through my blips calendar, and I ploughed and cultivated on 5th April last year, the 6th the year before.. Only a month to go! If it dries!

We had 16 mm yesterday, and 76 mm in the first 7 days of March, 1/2 the amount we had last year in the whole month, and 3/4 of the 20 year average in just 7 days..

Cataloging music while listening to the football this afternoon..
