Vanishing coots

Another evening bike ride. Just popped over the Barriers again and spent ages watching and trying to photograph lots of very shy coots hiding the foliage at the side of this burn.

Didn't succeed in catching anything other than a blur or a ripple as they vanished under the water but it was a very enjoyable way to spend an evening.

Edit - Orcades Days has pointed out to me that they are far more likely to have been moorhens.
