Germaine Would Love This Blip!
The world is light and dark in equal measures. Humanity is as amazing as it is destructive. The world absolutely fascinates me but I think too much and it sometimes makes life rather overwhelming.
There was only one think for it after work. A trip to North Tea where I had a delightful cup of Kieni from The Coffee Collective in Copenhagen. The Japanese have tea ceremonies but I have coffee ones.
My ceremony involves waiting a few minutes for the liquid to cool, a swirl of the first small pouring, raise the cup to my nose, sniff and then take a small sip. Good filter coffee releases its true flavour when cool, so I'll wait another few minutes before sipping normally.
This almost meditative process allows me to sense and appreciate the love that has gone into producing such a fine coffee, all from the farmers in Nyeri to my barista friends in Manchester. This coffee, extracted using the V60 method was rather good. I described it like summer pudding with not quite enough sugar added. It was like picking a sweet juicy bramble followed by a slightly sour one.
Then it was food time and I popped into Slice for brilliant rosemary and red onion foccaccia...herby and salty, followed by a pepper and pesto pizza slice! Bloody lovely. Taste senses wholly satisfied, I then had quite an inspired play with my camera and did quite well tonight!
