Great British Bake-off - Not!

I nearly forgot that I had invited some friends for tea today so I needed to make a cake very quickly, in between stints of work.

Whilst it would certainly not impress Mary Berry in terms of presentation, it did taste ok.  

Oh and how could I have forgotten? While I dashed into the village to  buy jam for the sponge I left 12 cup cakes cooling on the counter.  When I got back there wasn't one left.  The tray was still there.  There were no crumbs and the paper cases had disappeared,  But  they had gone.  No evidence but only two culprits who didn't even look ashamed..  Not sure it would stand up in court, but I know the truth..
