Another Sign of the Times

Mrs Catspaw suggests we should refer to our house as undergoing a programme of 'Backlog Maintenance' - although (unlike in the NHS) the cause of the 'backlog' isn't lack of money, but the perennial difficulty here in the NE of Scotland to get tradespeople to turn up to do what probably looks to them like a relatively small amount of work in your home, when there is so much housebuilding (and other construction work) going on all the time offering much larger and more lucrative contracts.
