The colour of water.

Turns out it actually is blue! Though heavy (deuterated) water is colourless. So all those childhood pictures you drew with sparkly blue water were spot on!
We had a Cambridge Don present a lecture on The Chemistry of Water to the Upper School Chemists and it was an impressive combination of wit, science and entertainment.
