Wallflowers or stocks?

The sun enticed me out for a short walk this afternoon and I thought I was doing really well, no coughing and no sign of my cold. However, on returning home, I am pleased no- one else can hear me coughing and spluttering. I have been watching the progress of these flowers since they were planted in the autumn. How come the ones I planted don't look anything like these!
