Alms giving to the monks, Luang Prabang

Got up before the crack of dawn to catch the daily ritual here in Luang Prabang where the monks collect alms from generous people around the town.

As far as I could tell most of the people lining the streets to spoon some food into the monks' silver buckets were tourists. It seems (to the cynic within me) that the residents have worked out that rather than give the monks food directly, they can sell food to the tourists who then give it to  the monks instead. Win win eh!
