Derelict Thursday
It certainly isn't a Georgia O'Keefe, but it is definitely derelict. The story of how this black tailed deer skull with 7 point antlers came to be on our property, is here. Not really knowing what else to do, we took the Sheriff deputy's advice and left the carcass where it had been hurled from a truck onto our property. Within a week, there was nothing left but the tarp in which it had been wrapped, skin, bones and antlers. A week after that, the tarp was gone. Now, three months later, the bones have been picked clean but are still scattered around and most of the skin is gone from the skull.
It's a bit grisly, but not actually as grisly as OilMan's mutilated ear which has become my responsibility to clean and bandage every day. He says it doesn't hurt. He can even sleep on it. thank goodness for that.
