All packed up!

Spotted this derelict building on my walk with Lucy earlier this week! Had no idea what it was for originally but as I was photographing a water channel on my way up the hill a local stopped. He asked me if I knew where it led to - I replied I didn't.......and nor did he! But he did know this building was the daffodil packing warehouse! Calstock was famous for its daffodil production, the blooms were sold in Covent Garden Flower market! Now the spent daffodils thrown out of the fields flower along the woodland tracks.
Lucy and I wandered happily past this building and into the woods and down through them to the river. Bumped into 5 people I knew so a long walk! On returning home I discovered what the funny smell was in my front room that has been offending me for days. Had searched for a Fat Cat deposit, and had removed Amelia's faeces of digested mouse days before. Upon opening the vivarium to change her water and check for more droppings the smell hit me strongly, and after poking around in the soft shavings found a mouse! Amelia had not eaten it the eve I had put it in, but in the morning she had shed her skin and the mouse was gone   so I had thought no more about it. Obviously she hadn't fancied it after shedding, maybe by the time she had shed it was already a little funky - well it was real funky by the time I found it today!! Double bagged it and put it in the outside bin, but I swear i could smell it on my way out this eve - may have to put it in freezer till next weeks rubbish day!!!
On the way to my and friends chickens saw the moon behind the church, so did the quickest closing ever and rushed back, but the cloud had covered it. I did walk along the lane a little and waited by the church wall and graveyard - but there was no point. All rather bizarre considering that last night I had been spooked in my house. I heard strange noises upstairs and was convinced someone, possibly something was up there. The something didn't bother me but the possibility of someone did! So I tried phoning a friend with a large husband - no answer. So I barricaded myself in the kitchen with the airer against the door! After an hour and no further noises I decided to sleep in the kitchen was not what I wanted, despite the nice sofa, so I armed myself with a large kitchen knife and a large brass pestle from one of many that my mum used to collect with the mortars. I turned on every light and checked every room - with all my school stuff  there was nowhere an intruder could hide, a rat or bird could have but they don't bother me! Of course, and obviously, I found no one! The only time I have been spooked in the house is when I have woken from a nightmare - so I gave far too much credence to my unfamiliar fear! Too much talk about horror movies yesterday! Yet this evening I was lurking down dark lanes next to a graveyard with no moon!!! Risking life and limb from the occasional passing car!!

More of the packing building can be seen here, as well as the walk and Portly Lucy!

Thanks to Freespiral and Himself for hosting Derelict Thursday.
P.S. Forgot to say Tedwin is to blame if it is a rat!
