Literature Festival

Today I went to listen to Elif Shafak talking on
Bliss is.........Turkey.
It was described as a talk on feminism,literature, freedom and the conflicting feelings she has for her homeland.
Her talk was full of interest, she now lives in London, but visits Turkey frequently. She said she loves London for it's multi-culturalism, a wonderful comment in today's climate.
With reference to her book " Black Milk" written after a time of post natal depression, I liked her suggestion that inside each of us 6 Thumbelinas are trying to establish themselves to help us become a more balanced individual.
