Garstang Memorial Garden

Hub and I decided yesterday that we would take a trip out somewhere today as the weather is supposed to be improving. We opted for a visit to the fair trade market town of Garstang. When we arrived it was blooming freezing......and we hadn't wrapped up as much as recent days, because it was supposed to be getting a little warmer.

It was market day, so we had a mooch, I bought a scarf, which I put on straight away! We walked through the town up and down back and forth, taking shots as I went, the church, the pub, the fair trade signage, the little memorial garden at the top of the high street.

We called in a little tea room to warm up, had a tuna sandwich and a cuppa before going back to,the car.

We decided that we would take a scenic route back, via Longridge and find a cheese making farm called Leagrams, that our friends have recommended numerous times, as well worth a visit. The sat nav took us on a magical mystery tour, over Jeffrey Hill, across the tops...around the trough of Bowland. If only it had been a bright and sunny day there would have been some spectacular views, but as it was flat and grey, although I did take some shots, they were rubbish! After a very winding up and down 10 miles or so, we arrived at Leagrams.........to find it CLOSED! I'm sure you can imagine what we said ;-) oh well, always next time!

Not the most successful day out we've ever had; too cold, no cheese and rubbish photos! Hope the quiz is better tonight :-/
