Spillover II.....

....is the name of this sculpture that depects an 8 1/2 foot crouching man whose form is composed of steel letters tack welded together. It was made by Jaume Plensa & was purchased by the city of Shorewood as part of it's "building arts" program in 2010. It was mounted on a 2 ft. high concrete base, & sits at the top of Atwater Park overlooking Lake Michigan. 
"The letters that form the open framework suggest that language is our primary tool for experiencing the world and each other..."
I've passed this many times, but today I finally stopped to photograph it on my way to meet my friend for lunch. Such a beautiful day--- except for the  stinging wind off the Lake---I should have dressed warmer!  :))
