Birds and Trees

At 6:30 this morning I woke up to go waterfowl watching with my Birds class. It was cold and miserable. There were birds though. By the time we got to our second destination I wanted to curl up an cry. I walked home from there rather than getting back in the death trap school vans driven by Andrus and Shepherd.

My warmth was short lived. Professor Shepherd dragged me back outside in the afternoon for a tree diversity study. It was less cold but snowing this time. And we were wading through snow up to our knees. But it was peaceful and pretty out in the woods.
